A Piece of Work

It was quite a day in our household.  Between the snow clean up, Tony being sick, Kyle home from school, large candle order in progress, and Alexa's aborted wisdom teeth removal, you-know-who didn't get all the attention she typically gets and thinks she deserves.

She also has no qualms about letting me know it, too!

I've never had a dog with such an expressive face.

I know I probably shouldn't indulge her, but c'mon, it's really kind of fun!

In the end, she knows what buttons to push, and usually, not always, but usually gets her way.

There are no words.

  1. She is adorable! What breed is she and would you suggest it as a good pet?
We will be getting a dog in about a year.

  2. Thanks, Amy! Joy is a mini dachshound. Her mom is a short haired red and her father was a long haired black and tan. If you have small children they are probably not the best choice in our experience. They are very loyal and if socialized properly and often do very well with people other than their family. I don't know where you are located, but there are several rescue groups around the country. My cousin in Orange County California is heavily involved with rescue, mainly small dogs, and is always looking for forever homes. They range from adult dogs to puppies. She even rescues dogs out of the shelter that are pregnant or still nursing puppies. She's amazing! I wish I lived closer (I'm on the east coast) but we are on the list to get one of the dogs when someone flying to our area is willing to bring one on the plane with them. http://www.barksoflove.org/
