A Local Treasure

Hibernia County Park is a five minute drive from my door.  I've never taken advantage of it until recently.  Tony goes there quite often to hike the trails and I went with  Alexa a few weeks ago and with Tony last week.  Yesterday I even went by myself (Tony was shocked)!

I didn't do the trails since I hadn't planned on stopping there and wasn't wearing the proper shoes but I got a few nice images of the fall colors.
Hibernia was an iron forge and the mansion was the home of the owner, from what Tony told me.
The skies were cloudy, but it didn't dampen the fall color, although this would have looked stunning with a blue sky behind it.

This is one of the oringinal mill worker's cottages. This one is obviously unoccupied but there are others on the grounds that are restored and rented out to tennants.
The children's fish pond is fully stocked.  There's a turtle pond, loaded with turtles, just across the road too.  I wasn't able to get any good shots of the turtles as I didn't have my telephoto with me, and they're pretty skittish if you get close.
I spent quite a bit of time snapping these twin trees.  The colors were just stunning.  Again, would have been stunning with a blue sky, maybe tomorrow!
